Drop down list text value in Livecycle Designer

Last week I had to get the chosen item from a drop down list in a PDF Livecycle Designer Form. Easy enough you should think.

But it did not work as I thought it would work.

As you would think the : $.rawValue would get you the item you want. But I did not want to have the item value but the text value.

Disable Adobe Reader Toolbar in Webdynpro

Last week I was searching for a way to disable the Toolbar of the Adobe Reader in a Webdynpro application. I needed this when working for a NL 4 Business customer

SAP provided a way in the Form but that did not seem to work in Livecylce 8.0.

After a lot of searching on the Net and trying a lot of code I finally found a way to Hide / Disable the Toolbar of the Adobe Reader in the SAP Webdynpro application.

At the Adobe Max

So, let’s put a quick 2 days here.

Yesterday, was awake for more then 23 hours. Got up in The Netherlands at 6 AM(CET), went to sleep in LA at 5 AM(CET).  The flight was good, but long… 11 hours. But it passed quick because they gave me lot’s and lot’s of food and drinks , and they showed a lot of movies (instead of 2 movies and old series, like the brochure said). (I hope they do the same on my way home as one of the movies is then….. Star Trek !)

What also surprised me in the plane was that all the beautiful female stewards, where or old, or fat or ugly. Don’t misunderstand me. They were very nice, caring and good at what they do…. but….. old, fat, ugly or a mixture. The only attractive steward on board (well bit attractive) was the male steward. But hey I am straight, so only the female passengers had all the fun.

When I arrived in LA it was almost 5PM and I arrived at my Hotel at like 5:30PM.

After arriving at the Ritz Milner Hotel I brought all my stuff to my room and went back downstairs to take a look at the city.

Adobe Max 2009 Schedule

Default Font in Adobe Form Designer

I see a lot of questions on the web about setting a default font in Adobe’s Form Designer.

Like this one:

How can I set the  default font for fields in Forms Wizard?
I know that I can right click on a form field, and set the format for future fields based on that field’s appearance, but when I run the Forms Wizard on a doc the fields all end up as Helvetica.

Is there someway to change this behaviour, or, failing that, is there an easy way to change the appearance of all the fields in a file after the fact? I know I could do it one by one, but that gets a little boring.

I also see a lot of not really working solutions about setting the font. Like Search Replace in the XML Source or select all fields where you want to change the font and change them.

But there is a solution !
