Flex/Swiz workshop

Binnenkort organiseert de FLUGR in samenwerking met QNH op 16 februari a.s. een Flex workshop.

Tijdens deze workshop bouwen we een Flex applicatie met behulp van het Swiz framework (http://swizframework.org/) op basis van het MVCS pattern. Swiz is een microarchitectuur en dependency injection framework voor Flex. Anders dan Gairngorm of PureMVC dwingt Swiz geen specifieke architectuur af. Dit maakt Swiz enorm veelzijdig waardoor Swiz in een groot aantal applicaties en scenario’s ingezet kan worden: van eenvoudige tot complexe applicaties. De voordelen van het Swiz framework in combinatie met het MVCS pattern maakt dit de applicatie beter test- en onderhoudbaar.

De applicatie welke we gaan bouwen biedt functionaliteit voor het beheren van contactpersonen en taken. De applicatie communiceert met behulp van BlazeDs en een XML/HTTP interface met een Java backend. We laten zien hoe je met behulp van het Swiz framework de applicatie eenvoudig kan testen met behulp van mock services. Ook laten we het Swiz event mechanisme zien.

De workshop wordt gegeven door een ervaren Flex/Java developer welke veel ervaring heeft in het ontwerpen en ontwikkelen van complexe Flex applicaties.

De workshop is inclusief catering en een DVD met daarop de VMWare image welke alle software bevat om de workshop te doorlopen. Deze DVD wordt uiterlijk in de week voor de workshop per post verstuurd.

De enige voorbereiding van de cursist is een laptop met VMWare player (http://www.vmware.com/products/player/) en minimaal 8 GB aan harde schijf ruimte.

Flex Password match check

Flex PHP UTF8 Problem solved

So you want to connect to your MySQL database with Flex and PHP tru AMF but you are getting these UTF8 errors?

If you write you own php files and you have an UTF8 MySQL database you can get nasty errors about UFT8.

The error you get can look like this :

Google Flex index test

I wanted to see if google would actually index this page and if google will index the text inside the flex app shown below.

So this somewhat strange app with strange words in it, should be searched for within a day from google search.

If this actually is searchable you will be able to write non-scrapable websites.

Flex with Swiz framework Workshop @Flugr

At Wednesday the 2nd of June, the Dutch Flex User Group will be giving a Flex/Swiz workshop. During this workshop the presenter will show you how to develop a Flex application with the Swiz framework. Swiz is a micro architecture and dependency injection framework for Flex. Swiz does not restrict you in any way which enables you to use Swiz in almost any application. by using Swiz and, for example the MVCS pattern, the application becomes better testable and maintainable.
