Before you go from joomla! to WordPress you have to reconsider really doing this.

It took me about 2 days (2x 8 hours) and a big headache.

I only had around 50 articles in Joomla! but it was enough to drive me crazy.

Joomla2WordPress import wizard with UTF-8 support

I recently switched from Joomla! over to WordPress. One major step which was preventing me from making the move for so long was the export process.

Then I found a post on azeemkhan.info which had a wizard which would allow you to move the content over. But there was a problem. It did not support UTF-8 sites like Joomla! 1.5 So I decided to take this script and change it to a working script with UTF-8 support.

Bye Bye Joomla!, Hello WordPress

Well, today is a big day for me. I finally moved this site from Joomla! to WordPress.

Joomla! is a full blown great Content Management System.

It is very strong at many points. It’s professional, has many many plug-ins, is fast, robust and secure.

You probably wonder why.

Well I Will tell you that in this blog.

MS Live Writer gives “Server Error 801 Occurred” on Joomla!

If you are updating your Joomla! site / blog with Microsoft Live Writer and you get a “Server Error 801 Occurred” when updating you could aks yourself “did I delete a category or section from your joomla! site?”.

If you did youre MS Live Writer cannot find some of the categories anymore and you cannot blog with Live Writer anymore.

That’s a bit of a problem.

Archive Content Plus voor Joomla! 1.5

Mooi natuurlijk die module van Joomla! waarmee je je archiven per maand kan neerzetten zodat je er op kan klikken. Maar ik zelf vond het niet ver genoeg gaan.

Nu heb ik op deze site nog niet genoeg artikelen om een archief te maken, maar op mijn andere blog, www.vandersluijs.nl, heb ik zoveel artikelen dat een archief wel handig was.

Maar goed de standaard module was niet wat ik wilde en dus heb ik een nieuwe gemaakt.
